The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) stands as a prominent Pentecostal megachurch and religious group established in Lagos, Nigeria. Enoch Adeboye, who was ordained in 1981, serves as the General Overseer, holding the most senior pastoral position. By March 2017, RCCG had established its presence in 196 countries across the globe. The congregation in Lagos experiences an average attendance of 50,000 individuals.
The origin of Africa Missions traces back to 1996, a time when Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye, the visionary behind Africa Missions, embarked on a trip to mission areas in West Africa. Upon her return, she carried a strong sense of responsibility and a clear call to provide essential aid to these missions. This pivotal moment gave rise to the establishment of the initial 'West Africa Missions Committee,' a dedicated team with the exclusive purpose of supporting mission efforts within the West African sub-region.
